kaibellaTropical ~ Thai ~ Fusion![]() Fresh, Flavorful Food Cooked from the HeartKaibella, Samara's cool tropical Thai fusion restaurant owned by chef Belle Richardson, has continued to expand since opening in July 2010. Belle, a native Canadian who comes from a busy event planning background, escaped the chaotic Los Angeles lifestyle to pursue her passion for health and cooking like so many other health conscious expats in the area. Instilled with her mother's gift for cooking, Belle has been preparing Thai meals for over 20 years. Each of her dishes is not only prepared with the freshest ingredients available, but with her personal touch as well. Belle, who "tastes each and every dish that goes out," ensures that each customer receives a high quality meal. "There are many beautiful fruits and vegetables in Costa Rica so it is my dedication to make sure that every single dish is served with only the freshest ingredients. I am also a very visual person and love to decorate my plates, which I do with gorgeous fresh whole herbs of mint and basil. Luckily, I even found a delightful colorful edible flower which adorns most of my dishes and is now my signature touch." In addition to offering typical Thai dishes, such as red & green curries and pad Thai, Kaibella also serves other delicacies including Caribbean jerk chicken, Asian inspired orange chicken or tofu and an exotic Thai-Indian spiced Musanam beef dish. Delicious hamburgers, veggie burgers and fresh salads are also popular and remain staples on the menu. Entrees, with choices of chicken, beef, tofu, shrimp and even scallops (although all dishes can be prepared vegetarian) range from 4,000 to 6,500 Colones. There are also many appetizers including gyoza dumplings, Vietnamese summer rolls, grilled chicken skewers & coconut shrimp and are priced from 2,000 to 3,500 Colones. All dishes are available for sit-down or take-out for a romantic picnic on the beach. Kaibella's offering of healthy options doesn't just stop with its meals, though. Smoothies that feature the healing ingredient Kombucha are also available. Belle tells us "Kombucha, which has millions of followers worldwide and has been crowned "the elixir of life", contains live natural probiotics, amino acids, antioxidants and vitamins that help heal and detoxify the body. The nutrients work in harmonious ways to support the body by boosting its ability to balance, strengthen and renew, enabling harmony and well being." Kaitea, Richardson's own private label, is now available bottled in several flavors to satisfy it's loyal and growing fan base. We use only the freshest ingredients & put a whole lot of passion in our dishes! Enjoy your "Kaibella experience" every day for dinner from 6 to 9 pm. On Saturday we also serve lunch from 12 to 3 pm. We are closed on Wednesday. We are waiting for you on Samara's Main Street.
